Campaign Language
We will generally play in English. All Campaign content will be in English anyway.
Though out of character can be done in Dutch if easier.
Character Creation
You have been to the carnaval before as a young child. You have lost something the last time you visted. What that is, is randomly decided the first time you play (or by contacting me on discord). You have come to the carnaval again and end up into this adventure (depending on how far we are of course)
The following rules are in place for character creation:
- All official content is allowed
- Fairy, Harengon and Satyr races are not allowed due to story related stuff
- Feylost and Witchlight Hand backgrounds is not allowed
- No Unearth Arcana
- For ability score use Standard Array, Point Buy OR my own customized relaxed Point Buy Calculator (https://burnacid.github.io/D-DStatsCalculator/)
- For HP use average
Hop-on Hop-off Campaign Rules
Every time we play it can be a different party furthering the story. It's on a first come, first serve basis. Therefore I cannot promise anyone a seat on the table.
Magic Items are in a shared pool that can be distributed among the playing party for that session. No one can keep a magic item on their character after a session.
The same goes for story related items.
All characters are the same level at all times. If you missed a few sessions in which the party leveled up, you character did too.
Resting / characters status between sessions. It could be a party might have ended a session with a battle and has no place to be resting. The next session a full party can exist of other players. Every session I note down the general health of the party. The next session it could be the party does not start at full health and resources. In general I will try to end the session on a rest option to avoid this.
Inspiration
Inspiration is handed out very sparingly. This is for story reasons. But if you gain inspiration. You can have ANY dice rerolled before you know the outcome of the roll. On DM's roll's this can only be done on a natural 20. This because you will, most likely, always know the outcome of a DM's roll.
Optional Rule usage
- I do not use the optional Flanking Rule
- I use the every square is 5 feet rule, even diagonals
- We will be using milestone leveling
